Downtown Zephyrhills Gained a Morning and an Evening This Summer. Fall's Calendar Mostly Uses the Evening.

October 8, 2026

Two openings a month apart gave downtown Zephyrhills both ends of the day. Trattoria Napoli opened in late July on 7th Street with 128 seats and a wood-fired oven. Pámpano Coffee opened in late August on 5th Avenue, and it closes by mid-afternoon. So the two new places split the day cleanly. Main Street Zephyrhills' fall and holiday events at Zephyr Park don't split evenly at all. Three of the four start at 4 p.m. or later. Only one starts on a Saturday morning.

That timing tells you which new spot goes with which event. Here is how each half of the day works, and how the calendar lines up with it.

The Morning Half: Pámpano Coffee at 38428 5th Ave.

Pámpano belongs to Shaila and Jonathan Thomas. They bought a historic home downtown in 2023, and they told Zephyrhills Community that the coffee shop came from wanting a gathering place once they had settled into the neighborhood. They describe it as specialty coffee, plants and a cozy community space. The name is a deliberate reference to John 15, which ties to their stated plan to become part of the community. Main Street Zephyrhills confirmed the opening. The local report put the shop in the middle of the historic district's walkable core.

The hours matter more than usual here, because they have already changed once. During opening week the shop ran 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and closed on Wednesdays. The schedule now posted on the shop's own website looks like this:

Day Hours on Pámpano's website
Monday Closed
Tuesday to Friday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Two details from that table come up again below. The shop is closed on Mondays, and it closes at 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

The Evening Half: Trattoria Napoli at 5470 7th St.

Chef-owner Matthew Zappoli grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. He won on Food Network's "Chopped" and spent 30 years cooking in New York, Las Vegas and San Diego before he designed this room himself. His wife, Idania Reyes, helped shape the menu and the concept.

The 128 seats are spread across a main dining room, a bar, an outdoor patio and a semi-private space Zappoli calls the pizza room. That room is built around a Wood Stone oven. The kitchen rolls and extrudes its pasta in house on Italian equipment. The pizza dough comes from a starter Zappoli has kept going for years. As he has described it, the place is a neighborhood trattoria built on New York Italian favorites, not a white-tablecloth spot for special occasions.

The dish to know by name is Millie's Meatballs. It is made from his grandmother's recipe and comes as an appetizer or as an entrée with pasta. The menu goes well beyond pizza and pasta:

  • Braised short rib agnolotti with parsnip purée and a Bordelaise reduction
  • Fresh seafood
  • A Bistecca Fiorentina for two, built on 32 ounces of prime beef with Tuscan rosemary garlic oil and Parmesan roasted potatoes
  • Wine and a craft cocktail list

The restaurant's website takes online orders and reservations. Reservations are the practical tool on the evenings described next, when downtown fills up for a festival.

Main Street's Calendar Runs on the Evening Clock

Every event in this table is listed by Main Street Zephyrhills or its partners. Each one is at 38500 5th Ave., the Zephyr Park grounds, or in the historic downtown district around it.

Event Date Time Which new spot it lines up with
Halloween Howl Saturday, Oct. 24 4 to 9 p.m. Dinner on 7th Street. Pámpano closes at 3 p.m. Saturdays
Veterans Day Parade Saturday, Nov. 7 10 a.m. to noon Coffee on 5th Avenue. Pámpano opens at 8 a.m. Saturdays
Christmas Tree Lighting Monday, Nov. 23 7 p.m. Evening only. Pámpano is closed Mondays
Festival of Lights Saturday, Dec. 5 4 to 9 p.m., parade at 7 p.m. Dinner on 7th Street

Three of the four are evening events, and two of those start at 4 p.m. on a Saturday. Main Street's current event feed doesn't list a recurring market or car show between October and December. So downtown's fall season comes down to these few big evenings plus one parade morning.

Oct. 24: The Howl Starts an Hour After the Coffee Stops

Halloween Howl is free and runs at Zephyr Park, the downtown grounds Main Street uses for many of its seasonal festivals. This year's program includes a haunted house, a haunted forest, games, live entertainment and treats for kids. The local report suggests that families with younger children arrive early for the games and lighter activities, before the haunted attractions ramp up after dark. It also says to expect busy downtown blocks and a short walk from wherever you park.

As of the Sept. 24 report, Main Street had not released an attraction map or an entertainment lineup. Updates go up on the Main Street Zephyrhills events site, and the listed contact number is (813) 780-1414.

The Howl opens at 4 p.m., one hour after Pámpano closes on Saturday. That makes it an evening outing that ends with dinner. A family with small children that wants a daytime stop first has another option on the same corridor. Hercules Park at 38110 County Road 54 covers 12 acres, with a multi-level splash pad, a nature-based playground, walking and bicycle trails, a playfield and restrooms.

Nov. 7: The One Morning That Fits Pámpano

The Veterans Day Parade runs from 10 a.m. to noon in the historic downtown district. It is the only event this fall that falls inside Pámpano's hours. On a Saturday the shop opens at 8 a.m., which leaves two hours to get a cup on 5th Avenue before the parade starts in the same district.

The parade ends at noon, and Pámpano stays open until 3 p.m. that day. It is the one date on the fall calendar when the coffee shop's daytime schedule lines up with a downtown event.

Nov. 23 and Dec. 5: Back to Evenings

The Christmas Tree Lighting is on a Monday at 7 p.m. at 38500 5th Ave. Pámpano's posted schedule has it closed every Monday, so that night is evening-only for downtown's newest spots.

The Festival of Lights runs from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, the same five-hour window as the Howl. The March schedule report put its parade at 7 p.m. That leaves a three-hour window before the parade. A reservation on 7th Street can fit inside it, and the online booking is on Trattoria Napoli's site.

Before You Drive In This Week and This Season

A few notes for planning your next trip downtown:

  1. US 301 overnight lane closures, Oct. 6 to 8. FDOT lists closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Southbound lanes close from Kingsmere Road to Sky Ridge Circle, and northbound lanes close from Bailey Hill Road to Wire Road. These closures are part of the US 301 and Wire Road signal project. It began May 11, 2026, and is expected to finish in late 2026 or early 2027. It will add a northbound left-turn lane, pedestrian crossings and lighting.
  2. The 5th Avenue resurfacing is finished. FDOT reported the 1.3-mile resurfacing of CR 54, Pure Water Way and 5th Avenue complete as of July 7, 2026. It ran from west of Flint Drive to US 301 and included sidewalk, ADA and marking improvements.
  3. Paulie Palooza moved. A March schedule report listed it for Nov. 14. Gulfside Hospice's current event page now lists it for Saturday, Feb. 27, 2027.
  4. Adesso Pizzeria is close to opening, not open. As of Sept. 21, the restaurant at 38931 County Road 54 was waiting on its final city inspection. Owner Clarence Novaku told Business Debut he expected "probably something by mid October for sure."
  5. The Winn-Dixie location isn't confirmed yet. A Sept. 18 local report named 4840 Allen Road in the Westgate Shopping Center as the intended address. Two days earlier, WhatNow reported that the chain had not yet confirmed its location. No opening date has been announced.
